More than just a boutique hotel, it is a new gem on the Thames, where Lema brings the essence of Italian design to life.
The Chancery Rosewood: the modernist icon of Grosvenor Square reborn
From embassy to all-suite luxury hotel, the former US embassy in the heart of Mayfair has reborn as The Chancery Rosewood, with architecture by David Chipperfield and interiors by Joseph Dirand.
For the hotel’ s 139 suites, Lema supplied and installed bespoke wardrobes, perfectly aligned with the refined identity of the interiors. Lema was also entrusted with the boiserie and wood panelling across the main three floors, crafted with special wood textures and finishes.
This project marks a major milestone for Lema. The Chancery Rosewood is the brand’ s third prestigious commission in Grosvenor Square, following previous collaborations on 30 Grosvenor Square and 1 – 3 Grosvenor Square, further reinforcing Lema’ s deep connection with one of London’ s most prestigious addresses.
In addition to its suites, the hotel features eight restaurants and bars, including the first European outpost of Carbone, as well as a spectacular rooftop terrace overlooking the building’ s iconic golden eagle. More than a remarkable transformation of an architectural landmark, the project stands as a testament to Lema’ s philosophy: custom-made Made in Italy design, crafted to make even the most extraordinary places feel like home.
