Leading design firm Wimberly Interiors – renowned for its collaboration with internationally recognised luxury hotel brands – has overseen the layout and interior design of the new suites . Founded in New York in 2011 , the independent interior design firm ’ s recent work includes Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl in Qatar , Waldorf Astoria Lusail in Doha , Rosewood Baha Mar and the design of six ultra-luxurious private ‘ Grand Suites ’ aboard the seminal Venice Simplon-Orient-Express .
Porto Elounda was the second hotel that the Kokotos family developed in Elounda , Crete as part of Elounda Collection , housing the first golf course on the island of Crete . Whilst the resort opened in 1992 , it has continuously been expanded and improved , with the addition of numerous features over the years .

Elounda Collection owns and manages three luxury properties in the area of Elounda in Crete , Greece . Elounda Mare Hotel was the first hotel entirely owned by the family of Spyros and Eliana Kokotos . The hotel now has 92 rooms , suites and villas and it is the only member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux association on the island . At the same time , guests of the Elounda Peninsula have access to all facilities of the resort such as the golf course , Six Senses Spa , Kids Ark , tennis courts and other .
The latest project of Spyros and Eliana Kokotos , includes the Elounda Peninsula Diamond Residences complex . A whole seafront wing of the resort has been set aside for the development of privatelyowned holiday homes , built to the highest standards and offering its services throughout the year and access to their own private beach .
