Cicchetti Knightsbridge in London – owned by family-run San Carlo Group and designed by Fettle Design – is named Overall Restaurant Winner and Best Europe Restaurant / Bar at the 2023 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards . Now in it ’ s 15th year , the 2023 ceremony , which was held at London ’ s Florattica on Thursday 19th October , recognises and celebrates the world ’ s most creative spaces and the people behind them .
Described by the organisers as ‘ the most important and influential design competition for food and beverage spaces worldwide ’, and judged by a panel of 40 of the most influential personalities in design , hospitality and lifestyle globally , this annual edition attracted 1130 entries from 61 countries .
Ben Spriggs , Editor in Chief of ELLE Decoration UK and one of the judges at this year ’ s awards , comments : “ Glamour and gravitas this design shows an accomplished and successful response to the brief , and the use of mural art is a real standout .”
Cicchetti is located opposite Harrods on Hans Road and brings a touch of Venetian bácaro culture to
London ’ s Knightsbridge . Designed by Londonbased studio Fettle , Cicchetti ’ s elegant and timeless interiors , spread across two floors , are inspired by classical Venetian architecture . Blending the contemporary with the classic , features include polished marble , burnished brass and bespoke art deco mirrored ceilings . Polished wood and brass fittings nod to the luxury yachts synonymous with the Floating City , whilst a large striking mural – painted in situ by LA based artist , Jessalyn Brooks - takes centre stage in the main dining .
This year sees winning projects from Europe , the Middle East , Africa , the Americas , Australia , the Pacific , and Asia , however Cicchetti Knightsbridge is the only UK venue to be commended . The restaurant was recognised in both the Global and the Regional Category Winners , leading to the ‘ Overall ’ win .
