64 THE WORLD OF HOSPITALITY SAMSUNG Technology Insight From Samsung At Samsung, we are strong believers in creating technological innovations that positively impact all people and industries, with the restaurant industry being no exception. Some of the ways in which Samsung makes this possible is through our digital signage and commercial microwaves. More and more, restauranteurs are looking towards digital signage as a way of showing information, selling products and making the overall eat-out experience more engaging within Quick Service Restaurants. Digital signage gives restaurants the tools needed to deliver customized content, media playlists, and live TV to multiple displays, allowing them to show targeted information to a specific audience at a specific place and time. There are several reasons why the use of digital signage systems at restaurants is becoming more popular, but the most prevalent relate to entertainment and information. Not only is digital signage visually appealing, allowing restaurants to display eye-catching content for marketing and promotional purposes, but it is also a convenient way to display information to customers. At Samsung we have three key models; our standalone QM49N digital menu board, interactive PM43F-BC customer ordering screen, and OH55F outdoor screen; perfect for drive-thru purposes. Digital menu boards at the store front are great for attracting passer-bys, while digital menus on hand-held mobile devices allow diners to browse high-resolution images of the dishes, or include videos of the chef preparing the daily special. Wearables and Large Format Displays also allow easy management of food orders, where customers can place orders via a mobile device at their table, while kitchen staff can view their orders on Wearables or Digital Signage, allowing them to keep track of orders in real time. Customers can then in turn also check if their orders have been accurately captured and track the status of their orders via the tablets on their tables without having to reach out to serving staff.
