This year marks The Petersham’s 40th
anniversary of private ownership and The
Petersham is celebrating this milestone with
dishes from 1978 reimagined for 2018, and
rooms rates at 1978 prices!

In honour of the hotel’s anniversary, The
Petersham Restaurant’s talented Head Chef,
Jean-Didier Gouges, has added four new dishes
to the exquisite fine-dining menu, inspired by
the restaurants past menus. Since buying The Petersham in 1978, the Dare
family have been instrumental in the hotel’s
ongoing development and growth. Forty
years, two generations, and some impressive
improvements and an ongoing refurbishment
later, The Petersham is proud to celebrate its
continued success as an independent, family-
run business.
Exclusively available for 2018, Jean-Didier has
reimagined nostalgic dishes from some past
retro menus. Highlights include an innovative
take on a ‘King Prawn Cocktail’ - made with
citrus pearls, samphire and wasabi and honey
mayonnaise – and a delicious ‘Petersham
Peach Melba’, served with rosemary, thyme and
elderflower syrup accompanied by crispy vanilla
ice cream. Greville Dare, Director of The Petersham
