Balearic hotel to go plastic-free

Just a 30-minute boat ride away from Ibiza,
on the peaceful Balearic island of Formentera,
Gecko Hotel & Beach Club is incredibly proud
of its setting and in turn its heritage, landscapes,
beaches and local community.
The hotel is renewing its commitment to
responsible tourism in aiming to go zero plastic
by the end of 2018. Its sustainability policy
focusses on energy efficiency, water and waste
management, social commitment, protecting
the natural surroundings, air quality and noise
control.
Zero plastic – the hotel will get rid of all plastic
currently used by the end of 2018, from glasses,
to straws, containers and amenities; plastic will
be replaced by biodegradable alternatives

Employee uniforms are by ECOALF, a
pioneering fashion brand which utilizes natural
resources and wastage from the sea, such
as nets and plastic to create beautiful and
comfortable clothing
