58 THE WORLD OF HOSPITALITY PRESS COFFEE Founders Davide Pastorino and Andy Wells set up a network of speciality coffee shops in 2013 with their first shop opening on Fleet Street, before launching a further two locations in Central London. The team sources and roasts the highest quality beans from all over the world, importing and roasting coffee beans from 15 different countries. As well as offering coffee, Press will be serving up a selection of loose leaf teas, smoothies and soft drinks from independent and artisan producers to their Fulham clientele. YARDSALE PIZZA Yard Sale Pizza was born out of three friends’ shared passion for simple, good pizza. Beginning life in a backyard in Clapton, owners Nick Buckland, Dan Spinney, and Johnnie Tate, now have four bustling shops across East and North London. Their unique stone-baked bases, which are double fermented for extra FOOD & DRINK flavour, are topped with the finest ingredients they can get their hands on, including locally sourced gems from North London charcuterie Cobble Lane Cured. No wonder their pizza joints have proved instant hits with locals and pizza aficionados alike -Yard Sale won Most Loved Restaurant in the Time Out Love London Awards and Best Cheap Eats at the Observer Food Monthly Awards in 2017. HOT BOX Hot Box co-founder Basit Nasim and Executive Chef Lewis Spencer came together over a mutual love of smoked barbecue, which was cemented after a month-long food pilgrimage to Austin, Texas. Described by Time Out as a “Meaty barbecue masterpiece”, Hot Box started life on the East London street food scene, before husband and wife team Basit and Preeya launched their standalone restaurant in Spitalfields in 2014. Using a combination of kiln-dried Hickory and Oak in their rotisserie smoker, they create intense, sweet and smoky flavours. The meat is dry-rubbed and smoked low and slow, to create tender, succulent cuts that melt in your mouth. It’s all about the meat at Hot Box. AHI POKÉ Ahi Poké is about as close as you’ll get to the Pacific on your lunch break. Inspired by the laid-back poké bars of Southern California, founders Jeremy Coste, Gabriel Cohen-Elia and David Bellaiche set about bringing a fresh outlook on the traditional Hawaiian fish dish to London, with flavours mapping Asia and the Middle East. Choose straight from the menu with their signature bowls packed with sunshine, feel-good flavours and fresh ingredients or build-your-own combination on a base of rice, quinoa or kale. All of the fish is responsibly-sourced and sustainably caught, and the team work closely with suppliers to get the freshest local vegetables and fruit.
