Thin Ceramics is an exceptional new range of vessels
from bathroom ceramics specialist Sottini. The high-
end, ultra-thin design of this choice product range was
made possible through the creation of an extremely
durable ceramic material, Diamatec.
Drawing on their two hundred years of ceramic
expertise, combined with an unsurpassed quality
in craftsmanship, designers at Sottini investigated
best practices across the industry. The result of their
research and development was a new material,
Diamatec, whose exceptional robustness allows
designers to achieve the near impossible: Extremely
thin, straight edges that are extremely robust
and durable—a highly challenging and complex
combination.
specially refined materials. Thorough research and
development was conducted to reach the ideal
combination of finely ground alumina— a versatile
ceramic material known for its strength— pre-fired
clays, and the perfect blend of sodium and potassium.
The result: Unprecedented strength and durability,
even in the most thin and precise designs. A new
glazing system was developed to complement this
innovation, ensuring its tight radius was maintained.
Diamatec was born. The Ellero range of vessels is supplied in three
configurations: a vessel without overflow, which
maximises internal volume; and for hotel applications
both a vessel with overflow, and a deck and vessel
with overflow.
Products in the Ellero range are especially well suited
for demanding environments, such as hotels, where
an effective combination of aesthetics and durability
is of paramount importance. The design maximises
available vessel space resulting in an enhanced
user experience. Previewed at ISH 2017, these stylish vessels will be
available in white and five pastel colour tones, inspired
by ‘the perfect storm’, a meteorological phenomenon in
which warm and cold fronts merge to create beautiful
colour tones in greys, blues and dusty pinks.
The overflow in these vessels has been thoughtfully
integrated into the design. The result is a discreet,
slotted design that does not compromise the clean
lines and minimalism of the piece.
The Ellero vessel range will launch summer 2017.
