An event highlight, the Sleep Set competition
sees WOW Architects from Singapore and Mitsui
Designtec from Tokyo join London-based teams
Gensler, Studio Proof and Aukett Swanke, each
designing a guestroom for a different sociodemographic tribe in partnership with contractors
and suppliers who will transform these concepts into
built bedrooms. Each team will present their ideas
to a panel of judges during a conference session on
the second day, with the winner announced that
afternoon.
This year’s 2016 “Sleep Experience” bar and the
event social hotspot is designed by Superfutures in
collaboration with visual artist Tupac Martir and food
conceptualists Studio Appetit, and promises a sensory
journey in which the bar’s design will further analyse
the five tribes interpreted in the neighbouring Sleep
Set bedrooms.
