26 the World Of Hospitality The Beefbar Humbert & Poyet Unveils The Beef bar In Hong Kong Following in the footsteps of Monaco and Mexico, Beefbar is continuing to conquer the world and this time it’s set its sights on the very heart of the Chinese metropolis that is Hong Kong. The signature concept from the Monaco Restaurant Group serves top quality meat that has brought the restaurant world renown and put it among the best meat restaurants in the world in specialist press. The Humbert & Poyet architecture firm has unveiled an interior inspired by gentlemen’s and wine tasting clubs with premium features in the new site. The materials are opulent, raw and luxurious: black wood panels, leather fittings, burnished bronze and a marble bar. The lighting is designed and custom-made by the architecture firm to create an intimate and cosy atmosphere. The openwork ceiling made up of dyed wood panels alternates with gaps to create depth and a bold design feature. The new restaurant’s unique feature is a scarlet wall that marks out a private and social space. Nuances of warm colours combined with refined raw features craft a masculine, chic and modern setting. A world away from hectic Hong Kong, the cosy bar and terrace heighten the sense of timeless luxury and the peaceful atmosphere designed by the architects Emil Humbert & Christophe Poyet. Each design feature created by Emil Humbert & Christophe Poyet echoes Beefbar’s culinary world: excellent, bold and pure. With over 20 years of experience as a chef, Andrea Spagoni puts these values into his dishes to create a unique culinary experience. This new project has seen the Humbert & Poyet architecture firm once again amaze and reach an international audience with a new address that’s already a must-visit! Paris, the former as a state-qualified architect (ParisBelleville National School of Architecture graduate) and the latter as a CFAI interior designer (Académie Charpentier graduate). It all began in 2007 when Emil Humbert, from Paris, opened his architecture firm and Christophe Poyet, from Monaco, had just graduated. Humbert & Poyet was founded a year after they first met: “It was natural, I instantly knew we’d work together,” says Emil Humbert. Their projects focus on elegant and meticulous designs to create timeless spaces using premium materials such as stone, wood and bronze. Naturally, the most important thing is to reflect the client’s personality and respect the soul of the site. LOW-KEY LUXURY ARCHITECTURE Two architects, Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet, joined forces to form Humbert & Poyet. The design and fashion enthusiasts decided to pool their skills to provide a full range of services from construction to interior design.
