the headland spa the World Of Hospitality 67 Hat-Trick Of Accolades For Iconic Hotel Iconic Newquay hotel and spa, The Headland, has begun the New Year by collecting a hat-trick of awards and accolades. There has been much cause for celebration at the hotel and spa, which overlooks the beautiful Fistral Beach in Cornwall, as it received the Silver 4 AA Star Award – recognising a superior level of service and hospitality, an AA Rosette for the quality of its food and retained its Good Spa Guide 5 Bubble rating. And all this came just a few weeks after the hotel became the first in the county to be awarded WorldHost Recognised Business s tatus. The three latest awards follow a range of reviews, some carried out by inspectors who only reveal their identity at the end of their visit. They continue to set the hotel aside, and the prestigious Silver 4 AA Star Award makes the hotel only the third venue in Cornwall to receive the accolade, while The Headland Hotel and Spa remains the first to have secured the 5 Bubble rating. Darryl Reburn, General Manager of The Headland Hotel and Spa, said the whole team was delighted to discover they had received these three fantastic accolades. “When we were contacted by the AA to give us the good news we were all delighted,” he said. “It really is further testament to the high quality experience we offer to all our guests here at The Headland. “Our team here work so hard to ensure all guests enjoy their stay as much as possible, so any recommendation or award by a trusted organisation such as the AA is very welcome. “To then discover we also maintained our 5 Bubble spa rating was the icing on the cake.” The Silver 4 AA award is presented to an exclusive few hotels offering a superior level of quality within their star rating, high standards of hotel keeping, in particular hospitality, service and cleanliness, and venues holding an AA Rosette for the quality of food. Darryl added: “We are very proud to be part of a select group with the special Silver 4 AA Star Rating and will be sharing the news with all our guests. “It’s always a great time for the team when they are rewarded for their consistent hard work – and another accolade for Cornwall as well.” The Good Spa Guide 5 Bubble rating is also one of the most desired awards in the industry. Lucy Mingo, Spa Manager and winner of the 2015 Spa Professional of the Year Catey Award, said: “We are over the moon to have retained our 5 Bubble rating. It means a lot to us that the Good Spa Guide regards us so highly as it is undoubtedly the most respected industry accolade. Our team are working exceptionally hard and we are delighted our guests reap the rewards of this.” And in The Restaurant and The Terrace there were also cheers as the team won the venues’ first AA Rosette. Christopher Archambault, Executive Head Chef, said this demonstrated they are series about offering high quality food. “It’s fantastic to receive this rosette and it highlights our commitment to providing great food for our guests and visitors.” In recent months The Headland Hotel and Spa was also named winner of The Cornwall Tourism Awards Spa and Wellbeing Experience category and winner of the Venue and Business Tourism category.
