Lumena Lights’ aim is to provide high quality external
lighting systems with innovative features at affordable
prices.
By upgrading existing lighting systems huge savings
can be made in both electricity and maintenance costs.
An LED bulb will provide up to 10 times the light
output of the same wattage filament bulb, therefore
lower wattage LED bulbs are required resulting in far
less energy being consumed - reduced electricity bills.
LEDs can last for 30,000 hours or more, compared to
approx. 2,000 hours for a halogen bulb, meaning fewer
replacements are required – less maintenance costs!
However, LEDs are still a fairly new technology
which is constantly evolving and like early computers,
premature failures are not uncommon. For this
reason, Lumena specialise in light fittings which
accommodate interchangeable LED bulbs rather than
built in LEDs which have many advantages. If a 240v
light with an in-built LED fails, the entire light fitting
must be replaced by a qualified electrician. With a
replaceable bulb, all that is required is a simple bulb
change. There is also much more choice with LED
bulbs which are available in various wattages, light
outputs and shades of white (warm > daylight).
A wide selection of outdoor lighting is stocked by
Lumena and ready to be dispatched for next working
day delivery (excludes bespoke models). These
include, wall lights, floodlights, bollards & post lights,
lamp posts, spike lights etc. Exclusive to Lumena are
over 150 styles of bollard, including those with an
integrated Photocell (dusk to dawn) or PIR motion
Sensor. The advantage of a Photocell is that the lights
are never inadvertently left on during the daytime,

and amazingly the electricity cost for an external light
fitting using a 3W LED bulb is less than £3.00 per year.
A Bollard fitted with a 20W LED bulb would cost less
than £20.00 per year.
Lumena offer quality lighting with durable finishes in
the form of solid brass, natural copper, marine grade

Mains and 12v light fittings are stocked. Garden and
Landscape lighting are especially suited to low voltage
lighting ( 12v) which is safer, easier to install and less
prone to tripping when exposed to damp conditions.
Lumena occupy a 20,000 sq ft. warehouse and
showroom in Northamptonshire where customers are
welcome to visit and personally inspect the vast range
stocked prior to purchase.
