Greene King celebrated as a top
100 apprenticeship employer

Greene King, the country’s leading pub retailer
and brewer has been featured by the National
Apprenticeship Service in its 2016 Top 100
Apprenticeship Employers list. The list was announced
at the National Apprenticeship Awards, which took
place on 26 January 2016.
An additional 3,400 learners are currently working
towards Level 2-4 qualifications
Chris Jones, chief executive of the City & Guilds

progress. And for employers, apprenticeships play a
crucial role in developing a skilled workforce. These

businesses that employ apprenticeships and work hard
to ensure that they become successful inspirational
role models to other apprentices.

Harry Ramsden’s to create 100 New
Jobs with Tower investment
As the result of a £2,000,000 investment by Harry
Ramsden’s, the world famous fish and chip brand is
currently working with the local council and Merlin
Entertainment to create its “Flagship of the North”
within Blackpool Tower.
The iconic British brand is set to relocate its staff and
operation to much larger premises within the landmark
Blackpool venue – a move which will secure the employment
of its 30 strong team and bring an additional 100 new full and
part time jobs to the area.
Restoration work at the Tower, which is being carried out
predominantly by local tradesmen, is already underway.
