Rememberance Day
Pam Brayton
Gathered at the RSL rooms, a small
group of 13 people joined in the short
ceremony of wreath laying, flags flown at
half mast, a minutes silence deserved and
appropriate words spoken.
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th
month.
TV provides excellent coverage of
national commemorative events of this
important day.
I appreciated the opportunity to keep this
tradition and thank the RSL. I hope for
better attendance next year.
Unfortunately locally it almost passed
unnoticed but for the dedication of a few
RSL members who did remember.

Tuckers Funeral and Bereavement
Service are holding a special evening
service later this month for all who have
experienced loss and grief.
Every year, there are many people who
face Christmas for the first time since
they have experienced the passing of a
loved one. To help families and friends to
prepare for Christmas, Tuckers Funeral
& Bereavement Service is again holding
their annual ‘A Time to Remember’
service for all who have experienced love
and loss.
Kathy Osborne, Tuckers Bereavement
Care Manager says “Christmas can be a
difficult time, and many people do not
know how to prepare for a celebration
while managing their personal grief.
This special event allows families to hear
practical suggestions about preparing for
Christmas, to come and light a candle
and release a balloon in memory of your
loved one. It is also a great time to join
others for a chat over supper”.
