Police Report
Sgt Janet Gleeson, Officer In Charge, Winchelsea Police Station
Hello to the community,
As the weather starts to improve, we
will see the construction workers back
at it along the Princes Highway. We
shall also see an increase in road users
as the summer and holidays approach
us. We are requesting for drivers to be
Patient and Courteous whilst driving
particularly along the construction
works. We are continually intercepting
and booking motorists who are being
impatient and ignoring the speed zones.
Police will be out in force and will be
booking motorists who refuse to adhere
to the road rules.
Please lets all take a breath and slow
down...
Could I also please encourage people
to secure all sheds and properties.
We are having an increase report of
items being stolen from sheds. With
people out starting to Christmas shop
and farmers busy out with silage/hay
season, this could be an opportunity for
undesirable’s. If you happen to see any
vehicles or strange people around your
property please report the matter.
Please ensure you have secured your
property. Lock up when you leave.
Little
Nibbler
Can you identify
this bug?
This photo shows a small
bug which has decimated a
gum-tree, eating nearly all
of its leaves. Do you know what this bug is? Do you know how to get rid of it?
Around 5mm long, triangular body shape with pale stripes across, it moves fast and likes
to hide on the underside of a twig (even if you turn it over).
