Local Lions Club
Welcomes District
Governor
Winchelsea Lions Club President
Murray, members, partners and
guests welcomed Dist Govenor
Stewart Pyers to their November
dinner Meeting at the Winchelsea
Tavern.
Stewart is a member of the
Grovedale,Waurn Ponds Lions Club.
Members of the Lions Club were
disappointed that Lions Lady Carol could
not attend as she is recovering from recent
surgery, however a boquet of flowers and
best wishes for a speedy recovery were
sent home to her.
A highlight of the evening was the
Lions V2 District Governor Stewart Pyers and
Winchelsea Lions Club President Murray Aisbett
presentation of the Alan J.Holding
Memorial awardfor Community Services
This was presented to Lion Les Hunter by
Dist Gov Stewart.
Les was a very popular choice as he has
been recently awarded the Winchelsea
Neighbourhood Watch award also.
Les is active in caring for the elderly
neighbours and friends, taking them to do
their shopping,doctors appointments and
any other chores that they need help with.
He is also actively involved in the Local
Garden Club and Lions Club.
District Governor addressed the members
and we look foward to a good report of
our local Lions Club
President Murray thanked Dist Gov
Stewart for his attendance and club banner
and D.G’s banner were exchanged as well
as a gift of appreciation for Stewart.
President Murray thanked all for their
attendance, and also thanks were extended
to Joe and Staff for their hospitality for the
evening.
