Senior Citizens News
What a great day we all had
on Friday last at the Cuckoo
Restaurant up in the Dandenongs.
It’s nice to be able to share some outings
with the other Senior Citizen Clubs in
the area. All together we filled a 54
seater bus from Hutchinsons Buslines.
Everyone had some terrific entertainment
including a few budding yodellers from
Winchelsea. The food was absolutely
wonderful and everyone arrived back
home full and happy.

Limerick Of
The Week
Tis strange how the newspapers honour
A creature that’s called prima donna.
They say not a thing
Of how she can sing
But reams of the clothes she has on her.

Recipe Of The
Week
TOMATO AND CHEESE CLAFOUTIS
2 teaspoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
500g Cherry Tomatoes
1/3 cup snipped Chives
1 cup grated Mature Cheddar Cheese
6 large Eggs
1/3 cup Plain Flour
1/4 cup reduced fat Sour Cream
300ml Low fat milk
Salt and Pepper
Preheat oven to190c. Lightly brush a
large ovenproof dish with the oil. Spread
out the cherry tomatoes and sprinkle
over the chives and three quarters of the
cheese.
Whisk the eggs together in a bowl, then
gradually whisk in the flour until smooth.
Add the sour cream, then gradually whisk
in the milk to make a thin smooth batter.
Season with the salt and pepper.
Gently pour the batter over the tomatoes.
Sprinkle over the remaining cheese and an
extra grinding of pepper. Bake for 30 - 35
minutes or until set, puffed up and lightly
golden.
Remove the clafoutis from the oven and
set it aside to cool for a few minutes
before serving, as the tomatoes will be
very hot inside.
Serve for lunch or dinner with bread or
boiled new potatoes and green beans.
Serves 4.
