Wednesday, 6th November, 2013 Dog Philosophy There’s a lot we humans can learn from dogs. If you live your life by the same philosophy that dogs do, you will be much better off in life. In the wild, animals fight for only two things – not a fancy car, not clothes or jewellery – food or a mate. Everything else they get after that is just pure happiness. The Winchelsea Star 13 ‘The Big Red Steer’ Shear for... (Ray Edwards Snr) Ray’s wife Christine and Children Pauline, Belinda and Ray Jnr (along with other members of their families) will be shaving their hair (or colouring) in support of all those who are suffering from, have beaten and who have passed away from Cancer! 1. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride. Our Big Family Shave Day will be held on 30th November 2013 @ 5.00pm @ Winchelsea Community Hub (Football/Cricket Ground) 2. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy. Please come along and support us and help us raise funds for the Cancer Council and find a cure for this hideous disease! Please feel free to leave some loose change in any of the donation boxes around the town. 3. When loved ones come home, always run and greet them. At least come for a laugh as we lose our hair. 4. When it’s in your best interest, always practice obedience. 5. Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory. 6. Take naps and always stretch before rising. 7. Run, romp and play daily. 8. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. 9. Be loyal. 10. Never pretend to be something you’re not. 11. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. 12. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close and nuzzle them gently. 13. Delight in the simple joys of a long walk. 14. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. 15. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. Mt. Moriac Cemetery Update Geelong Cemeteries Trust (the Trust) is currently carrying out site works at the Mt. Moriac Cemetery. These works entail the filling in of vast areas of low ground, levelling undulating sections around the perimeter of the cemetery and the creation of landscape mounding using clean fill and topdressing with loam. During these works, numerous trucks will be entering the site, and earth moving equipment will be levelling the spoil. It is expected that dust will be created, especially on windy days, however once these works are complete, the Trust will be able to seed the area then develop a Master Plan based on the original Cemetery Plan which will provide for internal roads and tree planting. No existing graves or monuments will be disturbed by these works and funerals, if required, will not be affected. Currently due to the wet weather, the works are taking longer than first expected. Hopefully these works will be completed over the next few months. Thank you again for your patience and if you require further information regarding the works, please don’t hesitate to contact the Trust Office on (03) 5249 3939 or by email [email protected] Winchelsea Cemetery The Geelong Cemeteries trust offer a number of options at the Winchelsea Cemetery 16.
