Hello again fellow indentured servants . Fall is upon us and we turned back our clocks one hour last night . I have been reminded to submit our class notes as I have for the last 62 years . I really enjoy sharing the news from our classmates . I just wish more of you would respond and share about your lives with our classmates .
We had a small representation on Alumni Day in June . Peter Feusner and Deb along with Bob Berwager and Mary Ellen . Of course , both Leah and I were in attendance , too . At the Alumni Banquet I had the speaking honor of presenting the Distinguished Alumnus Award to our very own Bob Berwager . Bob was very gracious in his acceptance speech . Attending in support were Bob and Mary Ellen ’ s two daughters and Leah .
The campus is beautiful . The new and renovated dorms plus the new Wesley Student Center are providing much needed and beneficial improvements . Almost makes you want to return for three more years !
As you may recall , we lost Jim Evans earlier this year . Jim will be dearly missed as he was an active supporter of our class . The class wishes Marie and family our profound sympathy .
I was pleasantly pleased to receive an email from Shirley Barnes . Shirley has been a faithful widow and has continued to keep us abreast of George and her family ’ s growth . You may recall , Shirley attended our 50th class reunion , and donated in George ’ s honor . I want to mention in general our class has always welcomed and embraced the widows of our departed classmates .
The note from Shirley Barnes read , For some reason I ’ m busier than when I was working . Our family is still growing . Our oldest daughter Sandra has two daughters Genevieve and Taylor who each have a daughter Grace and Harbor . George would have adored them . Shawn , our son , and his wife Tracey have their daughter Casey who graduated from Penn State last year and is working full-time . Shannon our youngest daughter and her husband Matt have a daughter Peyton , 9 , and son Matthew , 7 . We get together every holiday and birthdays . They still miss their dad . George passed away when our first two

granddaughters were four and two . He is still missed by everyone . It ’ s comforting that I still live in our home where he had so many projects going . I will try to keep up with the news better . Thank you Shirley for keeping us posted on your family and for keeping George ’ s memory .
Next , I received a brief email from always faithful Andy and Barb Keller . Andy wrote , “ Not much news from here . Have some medical issues and they have me on some meds which seem to be helping . I ’ m not walking with a cane . Guess this comes with getting old . Hope you and Leah are doing well .”
Received a very brief note from Bob and Maria Evans . “ We are doing well . In a few days we leave for the Florida Keys . Our friend has a timeshare . We go every year for a week of fishing and boating . Ina did not damage us . Not much happening here , Ed .”
We see Bob and Mary Ellen regularly . Bob is a very active walker . He completes three to five miles daily . Mary Ellen also walks daily , but not with Bob . Guess he can ’ t compete with her . LOL We get to dine out quite often with the Berwagers . In fact , we will all be going out to lunch again tomorrow .
The final note I received was from Jim and Mary Davis . Mary gave me permission to share their issues and health concerns . Mary wrote the following : “ Dear Ed and Leah , It is good to hear that you two are both doing well . Thank you , Ed , for all you do for Williamson and keeping us all informed of the classmates news . We still think of the great get-togethers you two hosted .
“ Jim is not good with correspondence on a good day and now his days are not so good . I don ’ t do computers , hence the writing of this letter . Jim can no longer do much on the computer and his voice is too poor for phone calls . He didn ’ t want to tell everyone of his medical condition , but now he has agreed for me to tell some of what he is going through . He has had Parkinson ’ s for about six years , but the last two have really caught up to him . His speech is bad and hardly audible most of the time . He still walks some on a walker , but we use a wheelchair to transport him . We don ’ t attend many activities outside the home . He has physical , speech , and occupational therapists three times a week . That keeps us busy . He also has myasthenia gravis , another neurological disease which affects his vision and muscles . He takes 35 pills a day for both diseases .
“ We were married 61 years on Sept . 9 and thank God for our days together . Thank God also that I am strong and healthy enough to care for him . Our five kids offer as much support as they can . Three live in New Jersey and both of our daughters are nearby , although they have their own problems . Both lost their husbands at 46-years-old and 59-years-old . One son-in-law died last year with COVID and he was 60 and

the other one of a massive stroke at 51 two years ago .
“ Our grandkids number ten and their ages are eight to 35 . We miss the Williamson get-togethers , but you all are in our thoughts and prayers .
“ Ed , Jim says post any or all of this as you see fit . Pray for us and keep up the good work . Love , Mary and Jim ”
Recently , our newest schoolmate has joined us and is now also residing at Cross Keys Village . Bill and Emma Seibert 6W2 moved here a few months ago . Bill and Emma are no strangers as they are very active and supportive of Williamson functions . They recently attended the 5W4 class Shady Maple multi-class get-together with Leah and me . Some members from 17 different classes attended . Currently , we have four alumni living here at Cross Keys Village : Bob Berwager , Mark Weikert 5W3 , Bill and Emma Seibert , and , of course , Leah and me . Next week a representative from the school ’ s advancement office will be joining our four couples for lunch in our café . It ’ s a great relationship having our small group of alumni here together .
Well , that just leaves Leah and me with a few words . Hard to believe Leah and I have been residing at CKV for over three years now . Leah has created a wonderful presence in our brand new home . We feel very comfortable and secure here . The campus is beautiful and the amenities are wonderful . Leah meets weekly with a dozen or so local woman for coffee and chit chat . She still enjoys entertaining and often has guests and family for dinners regularly . I have taken advantage of our newly remodeled and upgraded gym . I enjoy doing an active program on the treadmill . Life is good and we are enjoying it here very much .
I ’ m always receptive to news from all of you . Even a brief note is always welcome . The success of our class notes in each Williamsonian is dependent on each of you .
Well , looking just ahead , wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a very happy and healthy New Year . As always , your classmate . Remember and never forget , we are 6W0 .

Hey Guys ,
An answer to the most asked question - if / when will Dave Miller host another get-together at his barn ? The answer is that Dave has agreed to have a gathering in April or May . You will be notified of the date and time and any other instructions pertinent to the event . Thank you in advance for your hospitality , Dave ! Scotty says he is prepared to bring those delicious crab cakes from his favorite

supplier down in crab country . What else do we need ? A big appetite and a reasonable fee for the crab cakes . We will take a count when the date is closer .
Jeff Long has been hanging close to home since our COVID debacle arrived . A common thread with most classmates is that we reminisce about our past and how our Williamson experience influenced our lives . Jeff joined the Navy after graduation . Upon joining , he was subjected to testing in order to find out how he would fit into the needs of the Navy . To his surprise , the skills he developed in drawing / drafting class from Stafford Tounge won him placement in the Seabees where he attained the rank of E5 in short order compared to other enlistees . He even got to choose a duty station to his liking . You can bet his choice didn ’ t have foxholes !
Charles Echard ’ s wife , Carol , passed away at the end of 2021 . That sad loss prompted Charlie to move from Georgetown , Texas , to Weatherford , Texas . Charlie hadn ’ t been on the Williamson campus for many years and was planning to bring his son Brian to tour the campus . He also asked Charlie Covington if he would like to join them and Charlie gladly accepted . The tour included visiting all the shops , the Strine Learning Center ( Science Building ), library , chapel , and ending up with an enjoyable lunch with staff members in the dining hall . The college took us on a planned tour which was enjoyed by all . A special thanks goes out to Michael Herbert 2W3 who was our wellinformed guide / driver during the tour .
John Korab has been back on the road . This 20-day trip included Egypt , Tunisia , and Ethiopia . Specific destinations were the Sahara Desert and Valley of the Kings . The Valley of the Kings is most renown for the tomb of King Tutankamun , which is one of the 33 tombs that have been discovered . A new experience for John was a meal that included a camelburger . He reports that it was OK and similar to a beef burger . This journey makes a total of 133 countries he has visited at least once - some many times !
John Spiess has been reminiscing about jobs he worked on during his career . Besides working / managing various machine shops , he performed field installations of new machinery , and the more difficult job of field modifications and upgrading of existing machinery . He traveled from Montreal , Canada , to Texas and many sites in between . Anyone who has performed intricate work far from home can testify to the difficulty involved . Ed Sebring continues splitting his time between Chatham , Cape Cod , Mass ., and Lake Aldred , Pa . It used to be six months at each location , but lately has changed to eight months in Massachusetts and four months in Pennsylvania . He is still boating in Massachusetts and has recently moved his Harley Sportster there . Moving his bike was a seri-
