Rowan Hall Dedication

The Rowan Hall Dedication Ceremony( see article on page 1) was held in the lobby of Rowan Hall on Nov. 15. Words of praise for the late Henry Rowan, for whom the building is named, were given by( from left to right, lower level) President Michael Rounds; William Bonenberger 7W9, chairman of the
board of trustees; Michael Piotrowicz, trustee; and Virginia Rowan Smith, Henry Rowan’ s daughter. Henry Rowan is the greatest philanthropist since Isaiah V. Williamson. During the ceremony, which was also attended by
Lee Rowan, Henry Rowan’ s wife, and Smith’ s children, Rowan Smith Watson and Manning J. Smith IV, members of the board of trustees, guests, and the student Ambassadors, a portrait of Henry Rowan, painted by noted artist Garth Herrick, was unveiled. It will hang in the lobby of Rowan Hall as long as Williamson College of the Trades exists.

Homecoming

Homecoming 2016 started with student games, a Block Party, and bonfire on Friday, Oct. 14. Saturday’ s activities began with the varsity soccer team defeating an alumni team, 3-2. Guests then enjoyed a host of activities, including the Family Fun Zone. A highlight of the day was the football team defeating Gattaca College 28-14. The day ended with 5 and 10-year reunions.
