John Beaudry, PE, Director of
Power Plant Technology
John Beaudry left a job as principle
engineer at the University of New Mex-
ico to teach the electrical program and
assist in plant maintenance at William-
son in 1989. In 1995, he was named the
director of power plant technology.
Beaudry said, “I would not trade my
Williamson experience for anything. I
have been exactly where God and I have
wanted me to be.”
Beaudry is proud of the accomplish-
ments that occurred during his tenure,
including going from a 1-room class-
room above the shop to the Lipp Educa-
tion Center; the addition of important
technical courses; the creation of a good
welding lab; the design, assembly, and
installation of two steam turbine gen-
erators from used pieces; the fulfillment
of the dream of an Energy Island, which
is coming along very well and head-
ing toward completion; and the design
and installation of the first sports field
lights; to name only a few.
“It is time to pass the torch and as I
leave, I am taking Williamson’s core val-
ues with me. I look forward to support-
ing and volunteering at Williamson, the
best little tech college in the country.” Beaudry plans to take one year off
as “a year of jubilee, meaning one year
with no commitments as the Lord di-
rected. I’ve been working 50 years and
feel I still have one more good career
left in me. I am waiting for the Lord to
let me know what it is.” an end, I look forward to opening a new
chapter in my book of life. A special

me through this journey. Williamson
will always be close to my heart.” scripts, and helped with commence-
ment and the sports banquet.
In retirement she plans to work on
arts and crafts and take day trips with
her children.
Pete D’Orazio, Director of Lead-
ership Giving
“It has been a privilege to work for
such an outstanding and unique insti-
tution as Williamson. I’ve tried to ap-
proach each day following our core
values of Faith, Integrity, Diligence, Ex-
cellence and Service. There is no doubt
I am a better person for it. I’ve enjoyed
all of the relationships I have developed
and nurtured with donors who have
supported Williamson financially and
have allowed me to be part of their lives.
I also appreciate the many friendships
I have forged with alumni and their
spouses while working on reunions and
special events. They will forever leave a
positive impression. It has been a plea-
sure seeing students enter Williamson,
young, green and watching them ma-
ture and leave as Williamson men.
“As this part of my journey comes to Anne Hayes, Registrar
Anne Hayes is retiring after 44 years
at Williamson, which is an unverifiable
record in the school’s history.
Hayes said. “It doesn’t feel like 44 years;
I don’t know where the time went. I am
looking forward to retirement. It will be
nice to not have to set the alarm clock
every morning. I enjoyed my time at
Williamson and especially liked being
a part of a school that has such a great
mission and such a homey atmosphere.”
She enjoyed her fellow employees and
says she formed several lifetime friend-
ships.
Hayes was hired by President James
Clemens as the receptionist in 1973 and
later became a secretary in the admis-
sions office and registrar in 1986. She
worked for eight education directors,
seven presidents, and saw 2,923 stu-
dents graduate.
As registrar she took care of all of
the students records, sent alumni tran- Dave Kurten, Machine Tool Tech-

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working
here at Williamson. From the begin-
ning, I felt a warmth and camaraderie
with my fellow professionals that was
not present at other jobs. In my 30 years
of teaching, I consider my time here at
Williamson to be the pinnacle of my ca-
reer. Thank you all, and may God bless.
We will meet again.”
