Corey Jackson’ 03 Named New Facilities Manager
While growing up in Brookhaven, Pa., and attending Sun Valley High School, Corey Jackson was considering two plans for his future— going to a trade school or joining the Navy to serve aboard a nuclear ship.
Fortunately, he received help in making his decision from his father, Ron Jackson 7W7, and uncle, Larry Jackson 8W1, who told him he would get a great education at Williamson.
He also realized he liked the power industry after working three summer internships in high school at Powerhouse Boiler Equipment, in Delanco, N. J.
Jackson was a good student and his junior year he received the Alumni Association’ s Student Academic Achievement Award and his senior year he was

Williamson’ s large collection of Olympic great James“ Ted” Meredith 19W11 memorabilia just got bigger. Jack Lemon, author of the book“ Immortal of the Cinder Path, The Saga of James‘ Ted’ Meredith,” donated the remainder of his Meredith collection to Williamson’ s archives, making it the largest collection of Meredith memorabilia in the world. Thanks to Lemon’ s book the record is set straight on where Meredith learned to run— at Williamson. Meredith won two gold medals and set two world records at the 1912 Olympics in Sweden and learned to run while learning the masonry trade. The collection includes personal letters, family accounts, photographs, actual newspaper clippings, and much more. He then went to Omega Design Corp., in Exton, Pa., as a field service technician, where he was lead field serialization specialist and lead installer on new serialization lines, a position that took him all over the world, including South Africa and Puerto Rico, and all over the United States. Next, he was a packaging mechanic at Astra Zeneca in Newark, Del., where he was responsible for multi-craft maintenance activities.
Jackson, who came to Williamson in March 2017 as the facilities manager, is happy to be back at Williamson.“ I enjoy helping the school meet its mission and am glad to have the opportunity to give back to my alma mater.”
He received a bachelor of science degree in organizational studies at Neumann University this spring and next plans to get a master’ s degree online in facility management at Arizona State University. He also was named a Certified Green Builder by the National

Continued from page 5 he flew a variety of airplanes, saw combat in Operation Desert Storm, and retired from active duty with the rank of colonel in 2010. His many assignments included serving as commander of the U. S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs and serving as commander of the 562nd Joint Training Squadron, the Department of Defense’ s largest flight training school, teaching U. S. Air Force, U. S. Navy, and international students to fly. The planes he flew included the B-52G, B-52H, T-43, T-37, and F-4 Phantom.
His operational leadership assignments included serving as the director of joint operations for Alaskan Command / Joint Task Alaska, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, and serving at the Pentagon as combat chief long-range strategic planning and aide-de-camp to Gen. Wehrle, Air Force Plans and Budget.
Zachary graduated from California State University at Northridge in 1987 with a bachelorette degree in history. Upon graduation, he received his commission as a second lieutenant following completion of ROTC at the University of California at Los Angeles. His

He graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1970 and earned a bachelor’ s degree in industrial education at Temple University.
He was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 225 in Aston for 40 years and was an Eagle Scout.
graduate degrees include master’ s of arts in humanities from California State University at Dominguez Hills, master’ s of arts in defense studies from King’ s College London, United Kingdom; master’ s of arts in airpower arts and science from Air University; and master’ s of arts in national security and strategic studies from the U. S. Naval War College. He received his doctorate in higher educational leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University in May. He holds professional certifications from the State of Pennsylvania in Secondary Education: Social Studies, Vocational Education, and Administrative: Level 1.
He grew up in Westlake Village, Calif., one of six children. His father and grandfather worked for the Los Angeles Police Department.
He and Sheri, his wife of 29 years, have two children, Brandon, a graduate of Columbia College Chicago who is living in Los Angeles, and Kate, a junior at Chapman University in Anaheim, Calif. They also have a dog named Milo.
Zachary is an avid skier and ski instructor, having taught skiing in Alaska, a film buff, sports and Olympics fanatic, and book collector.
