ball or basketball, even cross country. What
were practices like? What was it like in the
locker room? Any stories about the coaches,
toughest opponents, bus rides? There has to be
some good stuff.
In the yearbook Garey mentions Bob Eplett
falling off the trash truck…Details?? I do re-
member getting all the slop from KP duty and
taking it outside to the old trash truck, and I am
pretty sure it was Brian Hassel with me, when
we drove to the dump in February. The garbage
was frozen, and with the truck extended up and
the hatch open, we had to climb in and chop the
ice with our hammers to get the yukky stuff out.
It smelled horrible, and we were 60 feet over a
pit. Garey was also known for fixing “man hole
covers.” What did that involve, were there some
fumes coming out of the tunnels?? Just asking?
Garey continues, “I have not strayed far from
the area. Although I worked on several projects
around the country, my family and I have called
home Delaware County and Chester County. I
live in Unionville, Pa., with my amazing wife.
My children are married and have children of
their own. Two live in Chester County and one
lives near Raleigh, N.C.
Currently, I am working at Exelon’s Oys-
ter Creek Generating Station and before that
I spent many years at Peach Bottom Atomic
Power Station. I look forward to seeing you at
an upcoming Williamson event. Warmest re-
gards, Garey.
Some of the guys are meeting at Mike Link’s
place at the beach at the time of this writing, so
hopefully “all the news that’s fit to print” will
make its way to me. But would love some stuff
from our vicious “cottage basketball” league.
Where poor Doc Keller tried to referee the
games in “Pigeon Palace.” Mark Waidell was a
shooting guard, Chris Toth dominated in the
paint, Dennis Warner and Bill Wanamaker pro-
vided a one two punch, or hip check as the case
may be. My roomie, Hammering Hank Ferri,
had a pretty good shot from the outside. He
called me not too long ago. Hank, like me, had
three different roommates in three years. He is
having a tough time recovering from his hip re-
placement. But he still puts on the tool belt and
works at some government housing projects.
I would love to poke some fun at Walt Er-
benich, but there is nothing written below his
picture. Nothing! So, someone please send me
something! Jay DeMuth, aka “Bear,” are you in
Wisconsin or back in western Pennsylvania?
FYI- they are tearing down the mall across
from the hospital. Making it some kind of re-
tirement village. Maybe just in time for some
of us. But remember the first year when Sears
was the only store open? Walking through the
fire trail to get to watch TV? Orange Julius was
a favorite spot. Tom Krall doubted my claim
to be able to run 20 mph and made me chase
his car, a green machine, across the parking lot
one night. Tom was right! It says Tom “played
across the line from Bill Bergey?” What is that
referencing? I remember the all-pro linebacker
Bill Bergey from the Eagles coming to play a
softball game, but was there another event?
Oh, Wayne Edwards gave me a call yesterday.
He is still painting and doing some property
management in the Ridley area and waiting on
a shoulder surgery. Still trying to outdo me with
quick quips and funny comments.
This summer, a big trip to Alaska is sched-
uled for me on a Disney Cruise with my ven-
triloquist buddy Ryan Bomgarner. And by
that time my first book will be out. Tentatively
titled “Growth Spurts and Growin’ Pains” ( the
struggles and success of a skinny stud muffin).
It is a combination Readers Digest, biography,
and inspirational comedy book with a touch of
MAD magazine. There is a chapter on William-
son, as my time there was instrumental to me
in many ways.
Facebook, email, LinkedIn are all good ways
to drop me a line, update me, share a memory.
You could even call. Thanks, Garey and Hank,
for your news and help in this issue.
Gratefully, Gordon

Hey, guys, as you all must know, it’s now been
40 years since graduation. Hard to believe, I
know. It would be great to see as many of you
as possible at the reunion this year. Let’s try and
make it happen. I also want to congratulate our
classmate Rev. Mark Specht for being selected
as Alumnus of the Year. Would love to hear
from you guys so drop me a line or two.

Not a lot to report, guys. Mongo and Flint the
Wolf have been occasionally playing a round of
golf. And, a bunch of us have already hit the big
birthday. Bress is the latest to be added to the
reunion notification list. How about you? Any-
one retiring this year? Mrs. Hayes is retiring
this year, so we all wish her well.

We had six classmates attending the Wil-
liamson Alumni Association’s Beef-n-Beer this
spring. Bill and Janet Bonenberger, Brian and
Tammi Cosgrove, Sam Lappen, Mike Miller,
Tom Noden, and I were all in attendance. It was
a well-attended event and a good fundraiser for
the Alumni Association.
Bill and Janet look great and they currently
have a few new residential developments un-
der construction in the Bucks and Montgom-
ery County area. Bill was the lead speaker at
the Rowan Hall dedication ceremony. He said
he had two hecklers in the audience from the
Class of 7W9.
Brian and Tammi have a very busy year com-
ing up with two weddings to plan. Their son is
getting married this fall and their daughter is
getting married early next year. If you contact
Brian and he seems stressed, you’ll know why.
Sam Lappen recently retired from Boeing af-
ter working there 37 years. He is playing some
golf and catching up on projects around the
house.
Mike Miller is still working with Murph and
is performing the caulking work on the new
dorm at Williamson. Tom is back in the real
estate business and is looking to invest in and
flip some houses in the next couple years. I just
returned from visiting my son in Washington
D.C. What a great city. We did a lot of walking
and checking out the neighborhoods of the rich
and famous.
Art Lallo informed me that he and Renee
recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniver-
sary. They celebrated by spending some time at
the Jersey Shore in March.
We also had another classmate return to Wil-
liamson to speak at a chapel session recently.
On March 3, our fellow classmate James “The
General” Douglas MacArthur spoke to students
at a Chapel session. He has traveled around the
world as a missionary and ended up losing his
Williamson diploma. His brother Jeffrey 8W1,
power plant, show up and surprised him with a
new framed diploma.
Mike Collins also contacted me and informed
me that he ran into Rob Kinsey at a painters’/
paper hangers’ meeting in December. Mike re-
tired a few years ago after getting his 35-year
pin. Mike also sees John Condo every now and
then.
Every time we get together with classmates, I
hear about another retirement. Are we all really
that old?

Greetings gentlemen,
My sincere apologies for somehow miss-
ing the deadline for the last edition of the
Williamsonian. I surely hope this finds each
and every one of you in good health and spir-
its. Time marches on in rapid fashion these
days. I will soon complete my 32nd year with
PSEG. Retirement is a daily option now! I do
believe I will stick around a wee bit longer
and see how the process plays out politically
to keep nuclear plants viable going forward.
The very low price of natural gas seems to
have rung a death bell for many facilities as
of late.
I have not heard much at all from the rest of
our class so I will have to improvise a bit here.
Facebook reveals that Frank, Cyndi, and Kyle
Mackell are traveling more miles then Apollo
astronaut crews as of late. Bill and Stella Ma-
honey are loving the life in the high country
of Colorado. John Prokopovich remains rock
steady near Atlanta. Dave and Joyce Pihanich
enjoy the great outdoors of the southwest.
Jeff and Linda Maziarz recently vacationed in
beautiful Turks and Caicos. Ken and Chris-
tine Connor are loving life and being grand-
parents in Cambridge, Md. I must also add
on that Misha and I are enjoying our grand-
babies as well! They grow so fast!
So it is now 2017, which means if I can
count anymore that it will be our 35th re-
union coming up. I will be in touch with the
Tech so see the details shortly. Plan on mak-
ing an appearance if at all possible. There are
a large number of you that I have not laid eyes
on since May of 1982. Until next time my
brothers, be well and enjoy! Love you Misha!
Miss you Mom!

Fellow 9W3 grads, hope everyone is enjoying
life and in good health. But you’re old and we
are quickly approaching our 25th anniversary.
I’m looking forward to hearing some details
soon on that weekend.
As for me, Florida is treating me well. In the
last few years I’ve gotten to spend some time
with some other members of our class. Have
been able to spend a couple of occasions catch-
ing up with my neighbors, Mark Beckey and
Jamie Gillespie. Rob Burkhart also lives close,
but I have not had the chance to verify he is
breathing.
In 2015, Jim “BDL” Lentz stopped down to
watch the Birds play the Bucs. He, Gils, and I
were able to spend some time at Frenchie’s in
Clearwater for some beach views and beer. In
2016, I was able to enjoy a mini-power plant
reunion weekend hosted by Corey Helfgott.
Poor Fawn had to deal with Corey, Jim But-
ler, Joe Pozzuolo, and me in Charlotte. After
a great tailgate, we watched the Birds and the
Panthers.
As the class fund chair, I’d like to ask anyone
who hasn’t checked into Willy for a few years to
please go to the webpage and update your con-
tact info. There’s a lot of outdated info hanging
out there (and some people are just MIA).
Enjoy the summer, and anyone coming down
for Phillies spring training and wants to catch
up, let me know.

First, I would like to apologize for the lack
of class updates. With social media being what
it is today we are probably as up to date as ever
on the lives of our classmates. With that being
said, it is a poor excuse as I owe it to you to
submit articles to the Williamsonian. I promise
to do a better job in the future.
During a recruitment trip to Williamson’s
Career Fair, I ran into a few of our 9W5 class-
mates. John Youngblood was there represent-
ing and so was Troy Zimmerman and Corey
Knowl. The best thing about bumping into
guys from our class is no matter the time in
between seeing one another it seems we can
always pick right up where we left off. If you
have an opportunity to attend anything up at
school I highly recommend that you take the
chance to do so. Seeing the students and listen-
ing t o them tell you what they experience day
to day and their plans for the future will bring
you right back to that time in your own life. It
will make you feel old and young at the same
time. At least it did for me. As the years go by
and new perspectives are gained it makes me
realize how fortunate each of us was to attend
the “Harvard of Trade Schools.” That same
blessing continues in the lives of the current
students as well as the high school senior hop-
ing that he gets the chance we were all given.
Another great run in occurred a few months
back when I saw Justin “Gap” Mann out one
night. While conversing at an Eagles of Death
Metal concert was not easy, it was great to see
him and I can report that he still looks like the
guy who made more saves than any other goal-
ie in Williamson history. Not sure if that record
still stands but the bottom line is it was great to
see him even if we could not hear each other.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you
want something to be relayed to the class or
even better, just to say hello. I plan on phoning
someone from the class of ’95, commonly re-
ferred to as “The Year of the Foreman,” so that
I can highlight what they are up to and where
their life has taken them. The plan will be to
continue that practice moving forward. To
keep things authentic, these calls will be made
from a pay phone located in a dorm. Talk to
you soon.
