enjoy gardening in our 20’ x 20’ plot during the summer months and working in my small, small woodshop in the basement during the winter months.
I have to say that our luncheon at Shady Maple this past October was again a good class turnout. We have ranged from 1-3 attendees of tying our figures from our 50th anniversary at Williamson in 2018. I also would like to thank the now disbanded Williamson Alumni Association, which lasted 120 + years, for their gift of a copy of the book,“ The Life of Isaiah V. Williamson,” by John Wanamaker, for each of the attendees. This books was the same one we had to read in Mr. Mowery’ s class 56 years ago. Reading the book once again, as an adult, was certainly much more of an eye opener for me. Mr. Williamson was quite the businessman and visionary of what was needed in the changing times of pre 1900s. Our school is a true legacy to a very worthy man. The Alumni Association also donated a few coffee mugs celebrating the Alumni Association’ s existence.
We have already made our reservation for the 2025 6W8 luncheon, once again being held at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord, East Earl, Pa. The date is Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025. Time is same as 2024’ s time, 11:00 a. m.-4:00 p. m. Even with the extra hour added on, I have been told by multiple fellows,“ I didn’ t get enough time to visit with everyone there!” We have locked in an all inclusive price of $ 27.45. It would be nice to keep our attendance numbers robust. Some of you have been to one, two, or three luncheons and perhaps have missed the last few. If you can, keeping in mind health and travel issues, we would love to see your smiling face again. Wives, drivers, caregivers, dates, whoever wishes to join you are most heartily welcomed. If you have contact info with any classmate, please feel free to add them to our list or to share this class news report.
Stay healthy, stay warm, and please keep in touch.

Hi everyone,
Steve and Kathy Lentz are doing well in their new dwelling in a 55-plus community in the Coopersburg, Pa., area. They joined and enjoy going to a monthly book club in the community to keep up with the times and keep the cerebral matter functioning.
George and Nancy Hagdorn have relocated from the East to the Midwest, settling down in Ft. Collins, Co. They have been there for more than five years and really like the region in

northwest Colorado. They enjoy going to the theater and attending at least 5-6 shows a year. George goes golfing every other week in the summer. They have two grandsons: Liam, 13, and Collin, 12. Both play baseball and basketball. George and Nancy have an open invitation to anyone traveling in the area to stop in and visit.
Bob Coverdale is doing well in Myrtle Beach, S. C. He plays golf whenever he can and still has a green thumb in planting a garden each year. He now has two great-grandsons two and four-years-old
Keep the faith and look for the good in all our situations. God bless America!

Hello to the Class of 7W0,
Sorry it’ s been a while since I’ ve been in contact with all of you. I’ ve been out of commission since the end of last March with major back surgery. I tried physical therapy, that didn’ t work, then tried shots in the back that didn’ t work either. So I had no alternative but to get the operation. They did quite a bit of work up my spine and between vertebrae. I’ ve been working to get better, but it’ s taking so long. Still going to physical therapy twice a week and slowly getting better. They said it would take a year to heal. So I’ m sorry I missed some reports.
I really haven’ t heard anything from our class, except Joe Lauck got married to Mary Lee. When you get a chance wish Joe and Mary Lee a happy life. On the other side we lost our good friend and classmate Denny Kozlowski.
It seems like it was just yesterday that we celebrated our 50th year anniversary and now this year we celebrate our 55th year. There will be a reunion reception with other classes of 0s and 5s anniversaries on Friday, April 25th. I will get an update on all info to you all before this newsletter gets out. It’ s coming up real fast and registration started on March 6th for the casual cocktail reception.
So my friends, take care and enjoy your lives. I hope to hear from some of you soon.

Greetings Brothers of 7W2, I hope these class notes find you and your families healthy and happy! Welcome to 2025! I am writing these notes from my home in Salisbury, Md., on Feb. 2, Ground Hog’ s Day. It is my understanding that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this

morning which means six more weeks of winter. I wish one of you“ upstaters” would take care of this groundhog. This is the first winter in 10 years for my wife Diana and I to spend the winter season in Salisbury. Typically, we are in Florida over the winter months. However, due to some health challenges and pending doctor appointments for Diana, it was necessary that we remain up north for the winter months. Just for the record, let me just say that I’ ve shoveled enough snow and experienced enough cold weather this winter.
Randy Hummel tells me he likes the snow because it gives him something to do. Whenever it snows, he jumps on his tractor and plows all 12 homes in his little neighborhood in Stevens, Pa. Hopefully, by the time you receive these class notes, Randy will have put his tractor away and we will be well into spring and, hopefully, pleasant temperatures.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, I joined Rich Mays in an Alzheimer’ s Walk in Salisbury, in memory of Rich’ s mother who passed away from this dreaded disease. Alzheimer’ s is a disease that does not discriminate. It can happen to anyone regardless of age.
In that regard, I am sad to announce that Bob Hopkins’ brother, Kevin, passed away from Alzheimer’ s on Jan. 8, 2025. Kevin P. Hopkins was a Williamson Power Plant alum, graduating with the class of 8W1. Hop, I’ m sure I speak for all of your 7W2 brothers when I say that we are so very sorry for Kevin’ s passing and we hold you and Kevin’ s family in our thoughts and prayers.
In January 2025, we were all shocked and saddened to see the video of an Army Blackhawk helicopter flying into the side of an American Airlines aircraft at Reagan National Airport, killing all 67 people who were aboard both aircrafts. Then, a few days later, we watched in horror as a Medevac Lear jet crashed near the Cottman Ave., Roosevelt Blvd. areas of Philadelphia. Onboard the Medevac Lear jet was a young Hispanic girl who had just received 4-months of life-saving care at Shriner’ s Hospital. Rick Lentz said that he grew up about two miles from the crash site in NE Philadelphia. Dennis and Donna Hollenbach went to Northeast High School which is located a mile west of the crash site. Dennis added that Donna’ s middle school was only a 1 / 2 mile west of the crash site. Disasters such as these remind us that life is precious and fragile and we never know the day nor the time when our Good Lord will call us home. God is good and always in control!
The following is a report from our Class Fund Chairman, Randy Hummel:“ Congratulations to Bill Herion for joining the Wanamaker Society. Thank you, Bink, for your continued support of Williamson. I would like to encourage our classmates to support Williamson. The year for contributions goes from July 1st to June 30th, so please keep that
|
in mind. A reoccurring contribution can be made. That way you don’ t have to remember to make your contribution every year. You can even specify the time of year for your contribution. Your class contributions for 2023-2024 was 27 % which was 14 classmates. The previous year was 19 %. Thanks to all for your support. Please consider using your Required Minimum Distribution to support Williamson. Also, consider joining the Wanamaker Society. This is a great way to support Williamson after your passing. We now have two classmates who are members of the Wanamaker Society. Our class goal for the year ending June 30, 2025 is 35 %. Let’ s go 7W2- WE CAN DO THIS.”
Thank you, Randy, for your words of inspiration and encouragement. Thank you also for leading our class as Class Fund Chairman and for being the first member of our class to join the Wanamaker Society.
Just to add to Randy’ s comments, even though our 50th reunion was three years ago, in which, we made a large contribution as our class gift, let us not forget that we still owe a debt of gratitude to Williamson for the gift that we received in 1969. You don’ t have to break the bank to make a contribution. If you can only give $ 20, then only give $ 20- every little bit helps!
I received some extra time to turn in my class notes, until the conclusion of the Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. How’ bout them Birds! The Philadelphia Eagles showed up BIG time, routing the Chiefs, 40-22. Congratulations to all 7W2 Eagles fans! Fly, Eagles Fly!
I guess this is all the news fit to print at this time. Stay in touch with your alma mater at Williamson. edu. Visit the School Store on-line and get yourself some of the latest Willy merchandise. I wear my Williamson gear to Planet Fitness and out in the general public. My favorite T-shirt to wear is one with the following inscription on the back: Williamson- Building Craftsman-Instilling Character.
Recently, while wearing this shirt around Salisbury, I ran into a young man by the name of Oscar Spiers, who is a senior at Salisbury University. Oscar stopped me to say that his younger brother, Finn Spiers, is a junior“ Brickie” at Williamson. It really is a small world out there. You just never know when you’ re going to run into a Willy grad. So, support Williamson by purchasing and wearing their merchandise, and maybe you will have your own story about running into a Willy grad.
Finally, remember these are YOUR class notes, YOUR means of communicating with YOUR classmates. Let me know about any milestones or general“ gossip” in your life that you would like to share with your classmates.
Until next time, stay healthy and happy and may God continue to bless and
