4 C LA S S OF 6W2 50TH ANNIVERSARY PROFILES The Class of 6W2 kicked off its 50th anniversary on Friday, June 1, at Commencement with class member Richard Storm giving the invocation and President Guy Gardner recognizing the group for a round of applause. Their reunion that evening at the Concordville Inn began with a reception where old friendships were renewed. After dinner, each received anniversary medals from Gardner and Peter D’Orazio, vice president of institutional advancement. Next, class members took turns standing at their table, reminiscing about their Williamson days and speaking of the role Williamson played in their lives. There also were door prizes. Richard G. Further Education: 4 years of night school to obtain an instrument technician degree, numerous seminars and schooling involving the Instrument Society of America Military Service: After Marine Corps infantry training had training to crew and repair helicopters, did lots of flying with Sea Air Rescue Employment History: Recruited from Williamson for a short employment time with Wiedemann Machine Co. assembling large presses near Valley Forge; soon joined the Marines; after discharge in 1966 started at Scott Paper, Chester plant, working up to 1st class instrument technician, then becoming maintenance trainer; Kimberly Clark bought Scott, I retired after 36 years Activities: Officer at our local Marine Corps League, performing military ceremonies at patriotic functions, active at the gym, prac- At Alumni Day the next day, they were honored guests at the President’s Breakfast, an invitation-only event. The rest of the day included getting further caught up on each other’s lives, enjoying the various activities, and seeing the many improvements to the campus. At the Alumni Banquet that evening at the Towne House Restaurant, Edward Nikles, Robert Overholtzer, and Richard Storm, the fund-raising committee, presented Gardner with their class gift of $107,576.25.
