ANGUS CAMPBELL OF RAY WHITE WOODSIDE WAS NAMED AS A SOUTH AUSTRALIAN LIFE MEMBER FOR 2022 .
Angus couldn ’ t be at the awards ceremony due to health reasons but Matt Lindblom delivered a letter on his behalf .
“ What an honour and especially when you consider the ilk of past recipients . I am truly humbled . Danae and I would have preferred to have been there in person to receive this award , but unfortunately due to the onset of Kennedy ’ s Syndrome I cannot speak nor move like I used to ,” Angus wrote .
Kennedy ’ s is an extremely rare neurological and genetic disorder that affects less than one male in every 70,000 . “ It affects men in different ways and in my case , I have recently undergone a tracheostomy to help me breath and as a result it has left me without a voice . That ’ s ironic when you consider my past life as a radio announcer and real estate agent . But , we ’ re not letting it get in our way . My family and I are simply learning how to adjust and pivot to our new lifestyle and we are in good spirits ,” he said .
