After more than five decades in real estate and cementing himself as a leader in Brisbane ’ s Redcliffe Peninsula , founder of Ray White Woody Point , Tyrone Misso passed away peacefully with his family by his side .
Tyrone migrated to Australia in 1956 with his family and moved to Dunbar Street in Margate , Brisbane . After school he dedicated his life to selling real estate .
He entered the real estate industry in the 1970s and bought GW IVES Real Estate in 1981 with his partner at the time , Don Stringer . He bought Don out later that decade and joined the Professionals Network in 1992 .

Tyrone and Damien made the decision to join the Ray White Group in March 2018 to assist Damien to succeed Tyrone and to continue to carry his legacy forward .
“ To try to describe Dad in a few words is so difficult , he was a larger-than-life character who was memorable in so many ways ,” Damien said .
“ From a young age he taught me to never give up and he used to recite numerous quotes to inspire me to be better .
“‘ Act enthusiastic and you will be enthusiastic ’, and , ‘ Whatever your mind conceives , and believes , it can achieve ’, are just two that I must have heard a 1,000 times over the years .
“ He made sure that my education was better than he had and growing up he and mum made sure I never went without anything .”
He was also a sales professional in every sense .
“ Immaculately presented , hardworking , someone who thought outside the box and aimed to be different , the customer was always right ,” Damien said .
“ But most importantly , when someone ‘ wanted to think about it ’, he believed that ’ s when his job began . He was like a dog with a bone if he sensed there was a chance to make a sale .
“ He dedicated his life to real estate on the Redcliffe Peninsula and his tenacity and endurance to be a successful business owner for the better part of half a century was incredible .
“ Spending the last 18 years with him in our family business has taught me so much and I am so grateful for the numerous lessons I have learned because of him and the opportunities he gave me to grow .”
Tyrone will be sorely missed and remembered as a true sales professional and a man who always fought for what he believed was right .
He was an advocate for the multi-list method of sale and won numerous awards from the Real Estate Institute of QLD in the early 2000s . He served on the Arbitration Committee and was an REIQ Fellow .
His son Damien joined him in the business in 2004 . Tyrone mentored him through the many ups and downs of the real estate market over the next decade and Tyrone achieved one of his life goals when he was able to complete the development of his properties at 52 and 54 Oxley Avenue between 2014 and 2018 . No . 54 Oxley Avenue , where the Ray White Woody Point office occupies , is a world class facility and the building was fittingly named “ Tyrone ’ s Place .”
