The White Report | March 2022 | Page 6

Neil Scott , principal of Ray White Lismore , recorded a video for our webinar to demonstrate not only the devastation the floods had wreaked on the town , but the incredible resilience of its people .
Neil and his team worked tirelessly to make sure their tenants and landlords were safe , and , he said , the rebuild will be significant .
How we are going to rebuild business and how we ' re going to house these people is a true issue we ' re going to face here . We ' ve got so much lost of property ; there will be structural damage to a lot of these homes . All we can hope for is some support , the town has shown its strength . We have a wonderful community .
This iconic statue in the heart of Lismore is a symbol of the community , and their strength .

AGENT ’ S BID TO STAND OUT AS THE NUMBER OF HOMES ON THE MARKET RISES

Ray White Eden Terrace agent Kane Taylor hired a saxophone player to serenade buyers at an open home
After COVID-19 temporarily put a halt to the in-person inspections , Ray White Eden Terrace agent Kane Taylor made sure they were back with a bang .
At an open home for 48 Bright Street , Eden Terrace , Mr Taylor made sure it was one to remember with a live saxophone player and nibbles creating the perfect atmosphere .
“ They loved it , they loved that we were doing something different ,” Mr Taylor said .
“ Some of the buyers said it was a great idea to make sure they remember the home they ’ re looking at .
“ The home itself was really well renovated and had a really nice outdoor entertainment area , so we thought why not express it like you were having people around to entertain .”
In February , Ray White ’ s live listings were up 9.25 per cent on last year , and Mr Taylor said with more houses on the market across New Zealand , you needed to do something to make your listing stand out . He saw more than 12 groups through the home on Saturday .
“ At the moment , when there ’ s so much to look at on the market , if you ’ re not doing anything different and working with the buyers you ’ ll just get lost ,” he said .
“ It ’ s been busy in terms of listings , you have to stand out somehow .”

THE EVENT KICKS OFF WITH A BANG

Ray White Surfers Paradise Group kicked off the 2022 auction season in style with 80 per cent of the 77 properties selling under the hammer at The Event in January , the 30th annual event of its kind .
Held at the RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast , the bellwether event has been long seen as the starting gun for the auction year and 2022 didn ’ t disappoint .
“ This is a day when so many dreams come true for our sellers and buyers ,” Ray White Surfers Paradise group principal and auctioneer Andrew Bell said .

“ The most satisfying thing for me is that most properties are selling well over their reserves ,” Mr Bell said .
“ We ’ ve seen some strong bidding from the floor and online but it ’ s mostly locals in the room bidding .
“ There is so much energy in the room . We had an array of properties from all over the Gold Coast in all sorts of price brackets , from beachfront to the mountain ranges .”
