LEADING LADIES WEBINAR UPDATE
BY NINA CLARKE
In July 2022 we set out to host a monthly webinar with inspiring women across all facets of real estate , to help satisfy the desire of our network to learn more and hear candid and open conversations from interesting women . The series has been such a success with thousands tuning in collectively , and it will continue monthly into the new year .
OCTOBER NOVEMBER
VEE LI AND JOYCE ELKOUBERCI
Ray White Commercial Western Sydney , NSW
Joyce Elkouberci , Head of Asset Management and Vee Li , Sales and Leasing Agent recounted their experiences and learnings of working in the commercial real estate industry , hosted by Ray White Commercial head of research Vanessa Rader . They are both incredibly passionate about commercial real estate , and despite it being often known as a male dominated industry , they would choose it every time .
Our favourite takeaways :
“ Work life balance is very important and an obvious advantage of this industry is that you don ’ t have to work on weekends . You can spend that time with loved ones , exercising , and doing things that make you happy .”
“ We want to see more women in Commercial and we are huge advocates for that . There is a lot of learning for the first couple of years , so you have to be patient and absorb as much knowledge as possible .”
“ It takes perseverance and there won ’ t be instant success , but once you get there it is worth it .”
ELSIE CORBY
Ray White Rockingham | Baldivis , WA
Over 100 people tuned in to hear from one of the most experienced and successful agents in Perth real estate , for the most recent monthly webinar . Elsie Corby was interviewed by Mark Whiteman , CEO of Ray White Western Australia , who told of the astounding achievements she has achieved in her two decades of real estate ; 1,876 sales or $ 840 million in sales value , in a market where the average house price is less than $ 500,000 .
Our favourite takeaways :
“ When we first came here from Africa , I got a job at McDonalds . I was about 25 years old . I was put on the drive-through because I was the fastest at serving customers . I always made sure I stayed number one , even with that !”
“ You get a lot of rejections in this job , you just have to push through it and eventually a nice person will come along and make your day . Pick yourself up , let things go and move on to the next .”
