Milestone Moments

BY BRIAN WHITE , AO
I am absolutely overjoyed to reflect on the remarkable success of our eight awards nights this year . Over 7,000 members together to celebrate and recognise everyone ’ s hard work and dedication was truly inspiring .

I saw the excitement in your faces , and it reminded me of all the late nights and tireless efforts that brought us to this moment . And how everyone in our group , over so many years , played their vital role in making the group what it is today .
Our awards nights started in the 1980s when our network started to grow throughout Queensland . The original format was very similar to what it is today . A special night - black tie - with a range of awards and some speeches . We learned early on to keep the speeches to a minimum , as awards nights are essentially to celebrate our members rather than for corporate speak . My father , Alan , loved the awards night so much , though his jokes would sometimes cause us a few problems !

As we expanded interstate and into New Zealand , the groups that joined us didn ’ t do awards nights like we did . How fantastic it was then to introduce our awards nights to them , and to celebrate their success . It showed these new members that we wanted to not only recognise and celebrate their success , but we also wanted to challenge them to be at their best with us . “ More than just a brand ” is something we have always strived to be , and our awards nights are a key part of being just that .
One of the biggest changes to our awards nights happened in the 2000s when award winners would bring their whole teams with them on stage . Our stages needed to get bigger as a result !
It is so appropriate that in this edition of The White Report we detail all the award winners who were celebrated at our events . There are so many categories now - and how great it is that all aspects of what we strive for are recognised on the night . Whether that be in sales , property management or administration , and also recognising the volume of activity as well the quality of our work in our customer satisfaction awards . Again , to all of our award winners , I extend my sincere congratulations .
Some of the results now being achieved are simply breathtaking . Whether that be sales agent ' s volumes , business sales ' volumes or growth in property management businesses - our members are now doing things that we did not think would ever happen . Can you imagine what Ray and Alan would think of some of these performances ?
