What was your job before property management ? I worked in student accommodation and , after six years in that space , I then decided to do my real estate licence . During that time I fell in love with property management and haven ' t looked back over 20 years later . I still love property management to this day .
What do you love about property management ? There is great variety in the role , I love the mix between being in and out of the office , not sitting at a desk all day . I enjoy getting to know people , being the person someone can turn to for advice , assisting clients through difficult situations and the challenges that the role brings on a daily basis , all of which keeps your mind active , and it ' s certainly never boring .

What is your favourite way to unwind ? I love going out to dinner with friends , getting outdoors and spending time with my two cavoodles Bailey and Mia . They are such a joy to be around .
What is your advice to aspiring property managers ? Always be kind , respectful and care . Communication is the key to property management . Don ' t be afraid to get on the phone ; having conversations helps build great relationships and helps you better understand your clients needs .

RURAL PROPERTY MANAGER
OF THE YEAR
What was your job before property management ? I had the pleasure of doing work experience twice with Mellisa and the team , which eventually led to my role as their Saturday assistant during my final years of school . At the end of 2022 , I officially became part of the team as an administration assistant . During my time with the team I have slowly transitioned into the property management role , however being such a small office means you get to assist with all aspects of the business .

What do you love about property management ? I love meeting new people and getting to know their stories . While being a property manager brings new challenges every day , building lasting relationships with clients is truly the highlight of my work . It ' s an honour to guide first-time investors through the process and to watch them grow their portfolios along with the experienced investors .
What is your favourite way to unwind ? I ' m definitely a social butterfly at heart , so spending time with family and friends , playing and coaching local sports , as well as exploring new places takes up a lot of my time . When I get the chance , I love going for long walks and getting away to the beach .
