RAY WHITE HELPS TO “ KEEP IT POSITIVE ” ON THE SIDELINES
FIRST EVER ‘ VIRTUAL REALITY ’ PROPERTY AUCTION
Canterbury Rugby and principal partner Ray White ' s commitment to positive sideline behaviour will again be front and centre across the region ’ s rugby fields , with a further 1,700 ‘ Keep it Positive ’ sideline bibs handed out to clubs and schools .
Adding to the 500 that were supplied to junior coaches in 2023 , secondary school and senior club sides have been provided with the bibs to help identify who should be on the sideline , while reinforcing the message to provide safe , positive environments for players , coaches , referees and spectators .
Ray White Morris and Co ’ s Clare Morris said it was a fantastic initiative they were proud to support .
“ It ’ s great to see such a committed response to promoting positive sideline behaviour ," Clare said .
“ We love how rugby connects people across Canterbury and it ’ s important for that to be a positive experience , so anything Ray White can do to support that is a key driver for us .”
The bibs have been supplied to all Premier / Division 1 Men and Womens ’ teams across North Canterbury , Ellesmere and Metro competitions , as well as teenage teams in clubs and schools .
The bright yellow bibs are now worn by junior rugby coaches who referee games , reserves at school and senior rugby , through to Canterbury ’ s NPC and FPC squads .
In Melbourne , history was made recently when Greg Brydon of Ray White Cheltenham sold a converted church at auction while wearing virtual reality goggles which meant his sellers could see all the action .
The world first VR property auction lasted a total of 9.5 minutes . After Greg described the property the actual auction only lasted four minutes .
Four minutes to make history . His sellers felt like they were in the thick of the action . Never before has a seller had the ability to directly see what the auctioneer sees and / or communicate with them in real time to provide instructions to put the home ' on the market ’.
No more peeking through the curtains , Greg ' s sellers could see what he could see .
The auction opened at $ 1.275 million which went up quickly to $ 1.3 million and then $ 1.35 million and the auction then broke down in $ 20,000s and sold for $ 1,487,000 .
Greg ’ s sellers were absolutely stoked with the result , they are downsizers and have loved their time in the Elwood community .
The new owner is a lady from Sassafras in the Dandenongs . Greg said ‘ the future is here and I would definitely use the VR headset again ’.
All along he maintained that the virtual reality headset puts his vendors first , it gave them a first person view which you need to have when making a split second decision about your biggest asset .
In a high pressure scenario , where the seller ' s biggest asset is on the line , it is crucial for the auctioneer / vendor to be able to have real time communication without breaking the momentum / emotion of the auction .
