On the Twelfth Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me…
By Jim McCann
I always enjoy putting together holiday wish lists and this year I developed one based on everything downtown Littleton has to offer.
Over the Headwall authored by the New England Ski Museum's Jeffrey R. Leich and available at the Village Book Store. Backcountry skiing is a hobby of mine and learning the history of skiing in Tuckerman’s Ravine will make for great reading this winter.
Blacksmith lessons from Med Chandler of Ships Coy. Forge through the Littleton Studio School. A number of my friends have taken Med’s class and have walked away with not only knowledge of the trade but with pieces they were able to create themselves.
Homebrewing supplies from Mt. Washington Homebrew Supply. A few years ago my wife and I purchased a wine making kit from Mt. Washington Homebrew Supply and we had a lot of success. It is time to venture into beer making.
A gift card to Schilling Beer Company. In order to gain inspiration for my homemade beer it will be necessary to sample the wide variety craft beers offered at Schilling. It is likely this will take a few visits.
Cannondale cyclecross bike from Littleton Bike & Fitness. I can think of no better way to efficiently explore the back roads of the North Country than on a cyclecross bike.
A margarita or two from Alburrito's Mexican Restaurant. I like mine made with 1800 Silver and a splash of orange juice.
Odyssey Tour stand up paddleboard from Badass Outdoors. I currently spend my summers watching my wife cruise effortlessly on her paddle board while I trudge along in a canoe I found in the woods behind my house. It is time to upgrade.
“Broga” Lessons from Rooted by Stacey. A yoga class geared towards men will be a great way to increase my flexibility and balance to stay healthy and reduce my risk of injury.
Fjall Raven Abisko 55 liter pack available at Badass Outdoors. This pack is one of the best I’ve seen. It has a supportive and comfortable suspension system and is made of super durable material. My favorite part is the hard bottom that can hold up against the granite, snow, and ice we have here in the Whites.
A romantic dinner for two at Tim-bir Alley for my wife and I, any menu, any time.
Mountainsmith backpack for my new dog available at Badass Outdoors. I adopted a dog who loves hiking and it is time for him to use his extra energy to comfortably carry his food and water.
Top of my Christmas list this year?? Bretton Woods Winter Mountain Pass. Unlimited alpine skiing and riding during all normal operating hours and no blackout dates? What more could you ask for!?
