The Westminster Kennel Club was a sportsmen’ s association at its inception, with members broadly interested in working their sporting dogs in the field. In fact, Westminster’ s logo is a Pointer named Sensation that the club imported from England to strengthen breeding programs. To celebrate that history and promote today’ s top pointing dogs, The Westminster Kennel Club donates trophies to the winners of the AKC Pointing Breed Gun Dog Championships each year. The country’ s largest field trial open to pointing breeds, the 2025 event was held in Greensboro, Alabama, and had two divisions: Horseback and Walking.
