The Show’ s
Iconic Venues
The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will once again bring the world’ s most prestigious canine event to two of New York City’ s most celebrated venues: the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Madison Square Garden. With roots reaching back to 1877, when the inaugural show was held at Gilmore’ s Garden— officially renamed Madison Square Garden in 1879— this year’ s event continues Westminster’ s enduring connection to the heart of the city.
The Javits Center will serve as the center of daytime activity, hosting breed judging and the interactive benching areas that allow spectators to meet champion dogs and speak with exhibitors. The venue will also feature the 2nd Annual Flyball Tournament at Westminster and the 13th Annual Masters Agility Championship, each highlighting remarkable displays of athleticism, teamwork, and skill.
Evening sessions return to Madison Square Garden, where Westminster has been showcased for more nearly 140 years. The Garden will host Group judging, the 92nd Annual Junior Showmanship competition, and the crowning moment of the show: naming the 2026 Best in Show winner. Returning to this iconic arena brings with it a profound sense of tradition and history.
The 2026 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show promises an unforgettable celebration of the human-animal bond, while honoring a legacy nearly 150 years in the making.
