Since 2004 , the “ World ’ s Most Famous Building ” has paid tribute to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show with a stunning display of purple and gold on New York City ’ s skyline . This year , the Empire State Building will celebrate the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Tuesday , February 11 , 2025 by filling the night sky with the Club ’ s iconic colors during the Junior Showmanship Finals , the second night of Group judging , and the WKC ’ s top honor : Best in Show . The lights are visible for miles as they reach more than a quarter-mile above Midtown Manhattan . This renowned landmark ’ s world-famous LED lighting system honors national holidays and special events of interest to New Yorkers and citizens of the world .
