2024 GROUP JUDGES

HOUND

MS . CHRISTINE ERICKSON of Queen Creek , Arizona . Ms . Christine Erickson began showing and breeding Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers in 1975 . Over the years , she has owned , bred , and exhibited Australian Terriers , Bedlington Terriers , Cairn Terriers , Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers , Smooth Fox Terriers , Silky Terriers , Welsh Terriers , and Wirehaired Dachshunds . Her Miniature Wirehaired Dachshund won the variety at Westminster back-to-back in 2010 and 2011 . She is a working member of the Santa Barbara Kennel Club and Lost Dutchman all breed clubs , along with many other breed clubs .
She began judging in 2002 , and at present is approved for the Terrier Group , Hound Group , Toy Group , Poodles , Australian Shepherds , Miniature American Shepherds , and Best in Show .
She has judged the Terrier Group along with Terrier breeds for The Westminster Kennel Club . This is her third judging assignment .

TOY

MR . GLEN LAJESKI of Cloverdale , California . Mr . Glen Lajeski ’ s life in the sport of dogs started when he purchased a Great Dane while in college . It ’ s an involvement that has lasted over 50 years , leading him to dog shows , Dane Breeding , and eventually becoming a member of the Professional Handlers Association .
Glen eventually relinquished his handling duties and focused on showing his own dogs , eventually becoming a judge in 2009 . He currently judges the Toy Group , various breeds in the Working and Non-Sporting Groups , Junior Showmanship , and Best in Show . His international assignments have taken him to China and Australia . In the United States he has judged numerous breed specialties .
As a Breeder of Merit , Glen has bred numerous Doberman Pinscher and Poodle Champions . Along with Joseph Vergnetti , as co-owners of Dassin Poodles , they have bred nearly 400 Poodle Champions , including the # 1 Non-Sporting Dog of 2009 .
Recently re-elected as AKC delegate from the Doberman Pinscher Club of America , Glen sits on the boards of Morris & Essex Kennel Club , Santa Barbara Kennel Club , and is a member of the Malibu Kennel Club .

NON-SPORTING

MR . FRED C . BASSETT of Broken Arrow , Oklahoma . Mr . Fred Bassett has been involved with show dogs since 1961 . Pomeranians were his major focus while he was actively breeding and showing . In addition to Poms , he has also owned and exhibited Poodles , Keeshonden , Old English Sheepdogs , Miniature Schnauzers , a Chihuahua , a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel , and an English Cocker Spaniel .
Fred was approved to judge his first breed , Pomeranians , in 1977 , and has greatly enjoyed judging dogs for the past 46 years . He is currently approved for all Terrier , Toy , Non-Sporting , and Herding breeds ; as well as Basset Hounds , Miscellaneous Breeds , and Best in Show . He has judged all over the United States including many National Specialty shows , The Westminster Kennel Club , and the AKC / Eukanuba National Championship . He has also judged several overseas assignments including Australia , Japan , South Korea , Mainland China , Taiwan , Vietnam , Europe , Mexico , South America , and Canada .
