WESTMINSTER WEEK VENUE
After two years in Tarrytown , NY , due to COVID restrictions , the 2023 Westminster Week events will be back in NYC . All Westminster events will be held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing , Queens , for the first time in the club ’ s history .
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is the home of the US Open Tennis Championships , one of the highest-attended annual sporting events in the world . Sitting on 42 acres in Queens , NYC , the National Tennis Center boasts three of the largest tennis stadiums worldwide , including the largest , Arthur Ashe Stadium . A perfect location for the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the US , the iconic Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show .
The sprawling grounds are the perfect canvas for Westminster Week , comprising five dog sport competitions and several demonstrations to delight dog lovers . The Westminster Kennel Club is excited to partner with this impressive organization and expansive facility to host the 147th annual event . The electric evening competitions , including the 10th Anniversary Master Agility Finals , Junior Showmanship Finals , Group , and Best in Show competitions , will all be held in Arthur Ashe Stadium , surrounded by an audience rooting for their favorite dogs .
As not-for-profit organizations , the Westminster Kennel Club and USTA are a natural fit . They have NYC as a birthplace , welcome all enthusiasts , and , more importantly , have similar missions of raising awareness for their passions . The USTA is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in the U . S . and the leader in promoting and developing the growth of tennis at every level . The Westminster Kennel Club ’ s mission is to support canine health , promote responsible dog ownership , and breed preservation .
