The painting is a representation of life. When you look into the petals of a beautiful rose just as you look at someone's beautiful life, you will find that underneath the beauty, there is pain. Jacqueline Clark ore than a year ago God gave me the theme for this issue. We do judge books (and magazines) by their cover. I needed a cover that illustrated how God takes our pain and turns it into a passion that fulfills our purpose. I was scrolling through Facebook and saw the work of the talented Jacqueline Clark. I contacted her about the magazine and the theme and she told me she was already working on a picture of a woman's face. One side is sad with thorns in the background and on the other side she is happy with blooming roses. I thought it was a perfect way to illustrate how with God the sadness and thorns of our life can bloom into beauty.
