Spirit what I needed. I needed my father, the representation of power and authority in my earthly life, to reassure me that he still loved me and that everything would be alright. I believe this is one of the many lessons I learned from my earthly father that also illustrates the love and care of our heavenly Father. The difference is that while our earthly fathers may be able to comfort us, there is a special type of comfort that can only come from God the Father. In 2 Corinthians 1: 3-5, the Bible says: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort God, our Father, wants us to look to Him as the source of comfort. He wants us to look up instead of looking around.
