Tangerines and Unicorns
You never see what you’re looking for until it’s gone.
Where are you supposed to go?
Do you have enough time to get there?
I’m going to add an hour to the day.
I never have enough time.
Do you?
I’m going to take a road trip to the west and hope to find a unicorn patch on the way there,
Maybe meet a few herders that will lend me a unicorn.
One that will help me get to my destination faster than this old, rickety Ford.
I’m going to take my best friend.
Her favorite color is black.
So she gets a black unicorn.
And I’ll get a purple one.
We’ll head out west.
Where the cactuses are the new roses.
And desert air is what the new rain is.
You feel your skin peel.
Like a dry potato getting stripped for a side dish.
But you trek on.
Because soon you’ll reach your destination.
