The Wave Issue 84

the WAVE Issue 83, March 2018 published by New Brighton Project Inc. Greetings New Brighton What a fantastic month we have had, The Ray White Duke Festival of Surfing was a huge success. Along with the surfing competitions there was something for everyone during the week including an outdoor movie night which saw the amphitheatre full of families singing along to Moana , as the sun set on a very balmy New Brighton evening. The “Jedi’s New Hope” Fundraiser was a true show of community spirit, The art auction and raffle evening was held at Fiksate Studio & Gallery and raised $16,602.88 for the Duncan-Caley family, to put towards creating a home that will be able to accommodate their 8 year old son Connor’s needs. Bubble Day at the Seaside Easter Saturday, saw hundreds of children and adults playing with bubbles . With belly dancing, circus performers , faeries and a visit from the Easter bunny there were smiles all round. The Seaside Market team gave away 328 bubble wands thanks to a generous donation from Andy at The Good Home Ferrymead.
