Kite Day 2018
Spectacular kites of all varieties and sizes will
flutter and soar over New Brighton beach,
delighting children and adults alike.
Kite makers from around New Zealand and
the world travel to partake in this popular
event. Create and decorate your own kite or
buy one from The Kite Shop on the day and
fly it on the steady sea breeze. If you don’t
have a kite sit back, relax and watch while
enjoying an ice cream, cool drink or fish and
chips for lunch on the beach.
The World Buskers Festival is once again coming to New Brighton 27 Janu-
ary.
This wonderful event is free, providing fantastic world class entertainment for the
whole family.

The annual New Brighton Seaside Love
Market is held on the closest Saturday to
Valentine’s Day every year. For 2018 this will be
Saturday February 10, coinciding with the Coast
to Coast finish!
This special market began in 2012 when one of
our local musicians, Pete Love, suddenly passed
away.
We asked his fellow musicians to get together at
the Market to pay tribute to him and to celebrate
New Brighton as a village that is full of love. This has continued to grow every year
and holds a special place on the New Brighton calendar.
