Matariki at New Brighton Library
We are delighted to be celebrating Matariki with events planned for the whole family.
Storytimes – June 20 th . Suitable for tamariki aged 2 – 5. Matariki based stories, songs and activities.
10.30 – 11am. Free.
Matariki Wānaka, Matariki Takiura – June 17 th . Whanau fun day with storytelling, arts, crafts, star
gazing and competitions. 10.30am – 3pm.

Ōtautahi Creation Station
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
If the answer is being creative, then come on down to Ōtautahi Creation Station at New Brighton
Library. Connect with others in your community. Have a cuppa and a chat, while creating your own
work of art.
It's totally free, no experience or booking required, and morning tea is provided.
Reading to Dogs
Designed to provide a relaxed, non-
threatening atmosphere which encourages
children to practise their reading skills and
develop a love of reading. Library staff and a
dog handler will be present at all times to
help facilitate the sessions. Sessions are 15
minutes long.

Falls Prevention Classes
Fridays 10-11.30am.
We are pleased to host Age Concern Steady as
You Go Falls Prevention classes. Improve
your balance, leg strength, flexibility, general
fitness and wellbeing in a relaxed friendly
atmosphere. Free, no booking required .
