NZ Music Month
We have a very busy month ahead with 8 wonderful local performers coming in to help us celebrate New Zealand Music Month. All performances are free.

New Zealand Music Month at New Brighton Library
2 th May: Natural Magic – songs and stories for babies toddlers and children. 10.30am 6 th May: Michael Godfrey – A collection of jazz standards and original instrumental compositions on the classical guitar. 2pm 7 th May: Ryan Bell- Acoustic guitar with vocals, playing a selection of covers that will appeal to a wide audience. 2pm 13 nd May: Sing Star for Teens 2pm 17 th May: Faerie Circle – Songs and stories for children. 3.45pm 20 th May: Lana and Phil Doublet- Proud supporters of NZ original music, this husband and wife singer / songwriter team encompass elements of country, folk and blues into their storytelling tunes. 2pm 27 th May: Adam McGrath – Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter from The Eastern will be performing a solo show. 2pm 28 th May: Guitar Ōtautahi- Classical guitars playing classic music from Bach to Beatles. 2pm
We are delighted to be bring this popular programme to our library. Designed to provide a relaxed, non-threatening atmosphere which encourages children to practise their reading skills and develop a love of reading.
These furry friends have all been trained and tested for health, safety and temperament.
Our Dogs:
� Can increase a child ' s relaxation while reading � Listen attentively � Do not laugh, judge or criticise � Allow children to proceed at their own pace Can be less intimidating than a child ' s peers
Library staff and a dog handler will be present at all times to help facilitate the sessions. Sessions are 15 minutes long. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling 03 941 7923.
