Brighton Gallery is a community Gallery of local artists run by a charitable trust for the benefit of local artists , we are situated in shop 4 Carnaby Lane off New Brighton mall down from Switch Café , between Bear Lion Café and New Brighton Regeneration Hub ( ex AMI ) and opposite Paper Plus
The Gallery still has few Calendars for sale ( everyone needs a Calendar ). The calendar features 13 paintings by Gallery members .
In the coming months the Gallery will exhibit our biannual exhibition / competition open to all comers , the last one in 2015 was a very eclectic affair with sculptures as well as paintings of various subjects .. all judged by local and Canterbury identities . Entry forms can be picked up from the Gallery
We offer community art classes for our local schools , we are taking bookings for 2017 NOW . Some adult evening classes have moved out of the Gallery to open space for small community groups to hire for a couple of hours in the evenings .. Bookings are open for 2017 , for more information give Judy a call at the gallery .
Brighton Gallery is a unique space , we have a great membership and the standard of art works is amazing . What we offer :

� Art classes from professional tutors , five days , four evenings each week , children , adult and family classes . Drawing , Acrylic , oil , water colour and pastel , classes are kept small so booking is essential . Reasonable rates , ( some classes include materials ).
Commission work : Have your Portraits , pets , landscapes , still life abstracts painted . Reasonable rates . Non refundable deposit applies , call and discuss your needs .

February 2017 : - OLWYNNE OLIVER A Photographic Artist now based in Christchurch . Olwynne has spent countless long hours in the hills and valleys of Central Otago where she waited on the sun to cast its light to capture the rugged perfection of the four seasons . The dramatic moods and mists of this rare and spectacular area are shown on her canvases . Being back in Christchurch she now spends her time capturing the city and Canterbury landscapes with all their unique characteristics . Her photos are professionally done and digitally printed onto Giclee fine art canvas , sprayed with a U . V . protective coating then stretched on a frame ready for hanging .
