hands over their hearts as my son's American flag
draped coffin came out of the bottom of the plane. It
was simply devastating. Then the last thing out was
Bret's bag. As we drove back to the funeral home, The
Leathernecks, Patriot Guard, and the Willoughby Police
Department, shut down the freeway as we drove to
Mentor for the funeral home. As we pulled into the funeral home, people were lined up with flags, crying,
hands on their hearts.
Bret's funeral was on March 8 at Immaculate Conception in Willoughby, Ohio. The big church was packed.
As we walked in behind Bret's casket, the music playing
