"The Empowered One"
Let me begin by welcoming you, the reader, to the truth about
our very own country. Our country, of which we have dedicated
our lives to serving, especially including those who have died
serving this country in order to protect our freedoms. I would like
to express a great amount of gratitude to those who have served
in the military and have defended us and continue to keep us
safe and keep our liberties intact.
This is the very first issue of The Wake Up, and it will most
certainly not be the last. For quite some time now, I have felt
compelled to do something about the civil and social injustices
that occur in our country. Especially lately, it seems these
injustices occur more and more frequently, which has prompted
me to take immediate action. Unfortunately, there is a bigger
perspective that we, as a whole and as a society, need to obtain.
It is time to open our eyes and wake up. That is the primary
purpose of The Wake Up. I have been looking for a platform to
commit myself to, so that I can make a difference in the world
around me. No matter how big or small the difference may be,
my goal is to bring attention to what is happening in the world
around us and how we can make that world a better place for us
and most importantly, our children. After all, they are our hope
for the future, and as a parent myself, I know I would like to see
my children grow up in a more positive societal environment. The
Wake Up is an alternative media source to mainstream media
which brainwashes us, and distracts us from the true injustices
that are occurring around our country. Our purpose here is to
inform you of the inequalities and the freedoms we are losing on
a continuing and escalating basis.
I have gathered a team of enlightened and experienced writers
to make you aware of the issues we need to bring our attention
to. Please read them with an open mind and heart. It is only
through a collective effort that we will be able to take a collective
action that we will make this world a better place to live in. A
place to be proud to live in. Thank you for taking time to be an
active member of an active movement of change. I look forward
to you joining me in this movement.
With peace and love,
Deanna Astol
