Premium Club Spotlight: We recently spent some time with Bill Heyman, President and CEO and Steve Matney, VP of Product and Business Development for Supreme Audio, a Premium Club partner and Gold Level Member of the GGFA Supplier Partnership Network T he story of the company is a great American success story. The company was started in 1975 as a manufacturer of loudspeakers. Acquired by Bill and Peggy Heyman in 1983, Supreme Audio evolved into selling retail sound systems, interestingly enough, to the square dance caller industry. For many years, they were the largest supplier of square dance equipment, but in 1985, they saw an opportunity to support the fitness industry. “We were the first company to focus 99% of our commercial business on the fitness Bill Heyman, President & CEO market,” says Bill. “No one else in the 80’s considered the fitness market as a market unto itself. We recognized those needs and have continued to respond to them”. This distinct change of course has dominated their business ever since, and today, Supreme Audio is recognized as the leader in sound and entertainment systems and lighting technology in the industry. Supreme Audio was introduced to the Gold’s Gym brand through Rich Minzer and the National Vendor Program in 1991.
