You're gone and not coming home

How could you?

All we needed was you

We could have been a happy family

How could you turn your back to us

But you had to mess it up

But I guess it was your plan from day one

How could you look me in the eyes and say you cared and loved me

Mom even lied for you

Saying you’d be back

But when we got old enough she told us that you left

Because you didn’t have enough love for all of us

Years pass and I still don’t have the father you were supposed to be

You left mom to pick up your pieces

The pieces of your three children's broken hearts

You left mom to tell us that you didn’t want us no more

You're gone with no excuse

But you just needed to go

But what is mom supposed to do

Just let you come and go when you wish

She can’t tell us that you don’t care

Or that you don’t want us

She had to tell us that dad is being a hero for someone else

She said you left because you loved us too much

She made up the stupidest lies to cover for you

But she got nothing from you

You were supposed to be the one

I call when I get into trouble

You’re supposed to be there for me

At least a phone call would be nice

But now I’m 13

I understand now

You never wanted us

But we never needed you

We’ve gotten this far

And there’s no stopping

And you’re not gonna ruin the rest of my life

You made this choice

Your life is all set

Mom said this time

She’s not letting you come and go as you please no more

Your time is over, no more wanting to start over

I’m done with your lies
